On June 20, Byterunners Studio and publisher Movie Games released the sequel to Drug Dealer Simulator on Steam. By July 1, over 100,000 people worldwide had purchased the second installment of the drug dealer simulator.

According to the publisher, the release of Drug Dealer Simulator 2 has revitalized interest in the first part of the series. Following the sequel's release, the original Drug Dealer Simulator sold an additional 66,000 copies. The total number of copies sold to date has not been disclosed.
Previously, Movie Games stated that Drug Dealer Simulator 2 earned more in its debut week than any other game released by the publisher.
