The action RPG reached this milestone three weeks after its release.

Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment boasted that Control Resonant has become the fastest-selling game in the company's history. Previously, the record-holder was Alan Wake II, but it sold much slower — the Alan Wake sequel took about two months to surpass one million in sales.

“We have always believed that Control deserves the attention of a wide audience, and this release has shown what can be achieved. We see how the game resonates with long-time fans while simultaneously attracting a significant number of new players to the world of Control, thereby strengthening its long-term potential. We now have two established franchises — Control and Alan Wake. Our task is to cultivate what makes each special, support them, and foster further growth. We have many plans for these worlds,” stated Remedy Entertainment CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon.

Previously, Remedy Entertainment stated that with sales of 3-4 million copies, Control Resonant will achieve a 100% ROI — meaning it would recover its initial investments twice over. So by today, the game has already covered a significant part of this journey.

Control Resonant was released on September 24, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
