These words were spoken following a loud public spat between the CEO and a former narrative designer of the company.

Rideshare “Stimulator”

For context: in August, writer Stella Sacco, who previously worked at Saber Interactive, accused the company of withholding information.

According to her, despite Rideshare “Stimulator” being created with AI tools, this information is not present on its Steam page.

She further sharply accused Saber’s management of replacing her as a specialist with the ChatGPT service.

The response was immediate. The company’s official PR service issued a statement denying that they ever replaced their writers with artificial intelligence.

Saber CEO Matthew Karch also decided to comment. Specifically about Sacco, he stated that the writer was someone he "would be happy to replace with AI."

This remark led to a wave of discontent from the general public, after which Karch apologized, and a mention of neural network usage appeared on the Rideshare “Stimulator” profile.

The latest interviews Saber is currently giving appear to be an attempt to minimize the damage from the scandal.

In particular in a conversation with IGN, studio creative director Tim Willits stated that none of the games they are developing under licenses use AI.

“There is absolutely no generative AI in Space Marine 3, Hellraiser, Stuntman, Turok, Jurassic Park, and John Wick,” emphasized Willits.

He explained their use of technology in Rideshare “Stimulator” as the company’s desire to experiment, to understand how the technology could be used.

At the same time, representatives of the studio do not see a major problem with their communication approach. In a conversation with PC Gamer, Willits acknowledged that the team can be overly direct but does not plan to reconsider their approach.
