Released on November 20, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl* has already broken even and started to turn a profit. This was revealed in an interview with Forbes by Maksym Kryppa, co-owner of the GSC Game World** studio.

The businessman did not disclose the current number of copies sold, only noting that sales were sufficient for a profit. Previously, GSC Game World** reported that two days post-release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl* surpassed the one million copies mark.
According to data from VG Insights, as of today, the shooter has sold 2.8 million copies on Steam alone, garnering $134 million in revenue.
Kryppa also did not reveal the exact budget of the game. He mentioned that the investment amounted to "tens of millions of dollars," but did not specify an exact figure.
Kryppa also recalled that when he became co-owner of GSC Game World** in 2020, the game's team had 65 people, but it grew significantly in the following years. At its peak, the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl* involved around 470 people.
The studio currently plans to release at least two expansions and add multiplayer to the game. Kryppa also expressed a desire for a Netflix series inspired by the game, although its feasibility is yet to be decided.
