The businessman did not disclose the current number of copies sold, only noting that sales were sufficient for the project to turn a profit. Previously, GSC Game World announced that two days after the release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl had sold over a million copies.
According to VG Insights, the shooter has sold 2.8 million copies on Steam alone, generating $134 million to date.
Krippa did not reveal the exact budget of the game either. He mentioned that the investments amounted to "tens of millions of dollars," but did not specify the exact sum.
Krippa also recalled that when he became a co-owner of GSC Game World in 2020, the game team consisted of 65 people, but it grew significantly in the following years. At the development peak, about 470 people were working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
The studio now plans to release at least two expansions and add multiplayer to the game. Krippa would also like to see a Netflix series based on the game, but it is yet to be decided if this will happen.
