Apptica analytical service studied the situation on the mobile gaming market in January-June 2023. We have selected the main thing from the report.
▪️India remains the main market for mobile game downloads. For the first half of the year, its residents downloaded games 4.32 billion times — this is 15.29% of all downloads. The second and third places went to Brazil (10.59%) and the USA (9.08%). Russia is in fourth place with a share of 6.71%.
▪️Casual games collected the most downloads — 4.15 billion. Then there are action games (3.9 billion), simulators (3.27 billion), puzzles (3.1 billion) and arcades (2.27 billion).
▪️The most downloaded game of the half—year on Android is Subway Surfers (116.5 million downloads). The most downloaded game on iOS is Eggy Party (32.2 million downloads).
The three main markets for gamers’ spending on mobile games are the USA ($5.71 billion or 26.61%), Japan (19.43%) and China (15.05%). Russia took 19th place with $183 million.
The highest-grossing genres were RPG ($4.48 billion), strategy ($2.83 billion), action ($2.3 billion), adventure ($2.01 billion) and casual games ($1.93 billion).
Coin Master topped the world’s top box office among Android games ($228 million), and Honor of Kings — among iOS games ($766 million).
