Over 500 employees have decided to leave NCSOFT as part of its voluntary retirement program. This was reported by Yonhap News, citing industry sources.

According to their information, by the second to last day the application process was open, more than 400 full-time employees had expressed their desire to retire, and by the closure, over 500. Some estimates suggest the total number of applications could have approached 600.

Yonhap News reports that NCSOFT offered departing employees compensation ranging from 20 to 30 months' salary, depending on their seniority.

Specialists with the best performance indicators, as well as those listed in recently created subsidiaries, were not eligible to participate in the program.

However, the large number of applications does not mean NCSOFT approved all of them. The company needed to review all applications by November 15 and notify employees of its decisions.

No official comments on the outcomes have been released by NCSOFT.

It is worth recalling that in October, following disappointing financial results, NCSOFT initiated a major restructuring, which was followed by a wave of layoffs. As part of these changes, four new subsidiaries were established, and several projects were closed.
