TikTok’s parent company may have run into problems. In May, information surfaced in Chinese social networks that ByteDance decided to almost completely dissolve the division engaged in publishing games. Among the reasons cited was the economic situation in China and the fact that the company allegedly could not obtain a license to publish new games in the country.
ByteDance itself refutes rumors about 80% of those fired. In a comment for the GameLook portal, the head of its gaming division said that the company had indeed optimized some departments, but there had been no massive cuts.
