Former employees of the indie publisher Armor Games Studios spoke about large-scale layoffs on social media. According to some of them, the company is laying off all its staff.
The reason for the layoffs is unknown. The management of Armor Games Studios has not commented on the reports.
The history of Armor Games Studios began in 2004. Initially, the company, then simply called Armor Games, was engaged in the development and publishing of browser games, but later expanded its portfolio. In 2015, it launched the label Armor Games Studios for publishing mobile, console, and PC games.
According to information on the Armor Games Studios website, it is set to release four games by the end of 2024 — Defender’s Quest 2: Mists of Ruin, Snacko, Deep Sleep Labyrinth of the Forsaken, and Shift Legacy Collection. The release of the latter is planned for next week and is set to take place on August 7. Considering the statements from the laid-off employees, it is now unclear if these projects will be released.
