At the end of May, sources from Izvestia reported that the Russian company "ROSA" is working on a portable gaming console similar to the Steam Deck. It has now become known that the company plans to spend a billion rubles on creating the device.

As reported by Vedomosti, this amount was disclosed by the company during a meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. They have requested government support for their initiative and financial assistance.
"The meeting did not make clear exactly what the requested amount is going to be used for and what it consists of. We have an understanding that the government will not finance the project entirely on its own," said Vasily Ovchinnikov, head of the RVI association, in a comment to Vedomosti.
According to the newspaper, the Russian authorities expect that, in addition to government funds, businesses will also invest in the creation of the console. It is also reported that the authorities are "categorically against" investing in consoles that run on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and are only willing to support devices running on domestic operating systems. Recall that "ROSA" plans to use its Linux distribution called Rosa Fresh for the console.
