Soda Den studio and Crytivo publisher could not agree on the game Roots of Pacha, a prehistoric farm simulator in the spirit of Stardew Valley. There were disagreements between them, as a result of which the project disappeared from Steam.

According to the developers from Soda Den, the reason for the conflict is related to the rights to the game. They tried to settle the dispute peacefully with Crytivo, but the publisher did not want to make concessions. Instead, without the knowledge and consent of the studio, he turned to Valve, demanding that the Roots of Pacha be removed from Steam.

Crytivo denies the developers’ words. In a response statement, the publisher said that he had been cooperating with Soda Den for three years and all this time he was doing everything possible to make Roots of Pacha a success. But on April 27, two days after the release, the developers reported that they were not satisfied with the amount of the game’s revenue share due to them and now they intend to unilaterally terminate the contract. Then Soda Den closed the publisher’s access to the Roots of Pacha page on Steam, and soon Valve itself removed the game from the store for a while until the studio and the publisher settle the conflict.
