The Romanian antimonopoly regulator suspects that Sony has abused its position in the country’s console market. He launched an investigation into the company.

The regulator believes that Sony imposed unfair conditions on the market by distributing digital versions of games exclusively through the PS Store. According to the department, this practice could lead to an increase in prices for games and other content in the store, as well as force Romanian studios to abandon the development of games for PlayStation consoles.

As part of the investigation, the authorities inspected Sony’s offices in Romania.
