In 2017, Roblox began preparing for the launch of the platform in China. However, the matter was complicated by the fact that she did not trust potential partners. According to the company, any of them, including Tencent, could want to create their own version of her brainchild.

This became known from the internal documents of Roblox, which were recently stolen by hackers. According to them, the company expected that “hundreds of people” would be engaged in reverse engineering.

A test version of Roblox called LuoBuLeSi was released in China with the support of Tencent in the summer of 2021. It was closed earlier this year.
