Roblox has published its financial report for the fourth quarter and the entire year 2023. We have chosen the main thing.
Figures for the fourth quarter of 2023:
- revenue amounted to a record $749.9 million, which is 30% more than the previous year;
- most of the revenue came from the USA and Canada — $480 million. The second largest market was Europe ($135.2 million), and the third was the Asia-Pacific region ($78.9 million);
- bookings increased by 25% and reached $1.1 billion. This is also a record;
- The net loss for holders of ordinary shares amounted to $323.7 million. A year ago, it was equal to $289.9 million.
Indicators for the whole year 2023:
- Roblox's revenue rose to $2.8 billion for the first time, an increase of 26% year—on-year;
- bookings totaled $3.5 billion, an increase of 23% compared to 2022;
- The net loss for holders of ordinary shares amounted to $1.15 billion. A year ago, it was equal to $924.3 million;
- In 2023, users spent a total of 60 billion hours on the Roblox platform;
- The daily active audience of the platform has grown to 68.4 million people;
- The amount of revenue per active user per day (ABPDAU) was $51.5.
"We ended 2023 with another strong quarter of growth, in which we continued to develop new features of the Roblox platform and innovate. We enter 2024 with even greater confidence that we will be able to achieve our long—term goal of reaching a daily audience of one billion people," said David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox.
As noted by Reuters, after the release of the report, Roblox shares rose by 15% in preliminary trading.
