There's a new indie success on Steam. This time, it's the shooter with survival elements, Road to Vostok, which showed excellent initial results after launching in early access on April 7.

Finnish solo developer Antti Leinonen announced on social media that the game had already recouped its production budget the day after release. Moreover, Road to Vostok has generated enough revenue to support further development for several more years.

Leinonen didn't share specific figures, but promised to disclose the statistics soon.

Analytical services indicate that Road to Vostok managed to gather over 700,000 wishlists on Steam before its debut. The game was warmly received—it currently has a "Very Positive" rating (81%) based on 1,600 reviews, and its peak online reaches 5,399 players.

The events of Road to Vostok take place on the border between Finland and Russia, where several mysterious zones have formed. Players must try to survive shootouts and gather equipment and various valuable items.

The full release date for Road to Vostok remains unknown, but Leinonen doesn't rule out the possibility that the game could stay in early access for up to four years.
