Remedy Entertainment prepared a financial report for the first three months of 2026. The company informed investors that, ahead of the release of Control Resonant, it began to spend more on marketing, which, among other things, affected its revenue and profit.
Control Resonant
- For January-March 2026, Remedy's revenue amounted to €13.1 million, which is 1.9% less than the previous year.
- At the same time, the royalties from Remedy's games almost doubled — from €2.6 million to €4.9 million. This growth can largely be attributed to Alan Wake 2, which, along with Alan Wake Remastered, recently became available on the Amazon Luna cloud gaming service. Additionally, the first Control was in considerable demand during the quarter.
- The remaining revenue — €8.2 million (-23.8%) — came from game development payments. These are funds that Remedy receives from partners. For example, Annapurna Interactive partially finances the creation of Control Resonant, and Rockstar Games funds the remake of the Max Payne duology.
- Remedy's operating profit dropped by 23% to €1 million.
- As of March 31, Remedy employed 391 people — 4.8% more than the previous year.
- Despite the decline in income, Remedy's management remains optimistic. The new company head, Jean-Charles Gaudechon, stated that the company is in a good position to achieve its ambitions.
"The gaming industry has always been dynamic, and now it is more volatile than ever. While the industry seeks a foothold, Remedy will double down on what makes it unique. This includes creative identity, memorable IP, and a commitment to exceptional quality and originality," said Gaudechon.
