The Finnish publisher and developer Rovio has published an annual report. The company managed to increase revenue, but its profit and audience of games decreased.
In 2022, Rovio earned €317.7 million (+11%).
▪️Receipts in games (gross bookings) amounted to €298 million (+9.8%). Of this amount, Angry Birds 2 traditionally accounted for the most — €116 million.
Separately, Rovio noted the good results of Angry Birds Dream Blast. As a result of the fourth quarter alone, the game received record revenues of € 21.6 million, which is 33.4% more than a year earlier. Receipts for the whole of 2022 amounted to €68.2 million.
▪️Rovio’s operating profit fell to €28.6 million (-24.3%).
▪️In the fourth quarter, the MAU of Rovio games decreased to 454 thousand people (-6.3%). DAU fell to 6.3 million people (-3%).
