Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village has surpassed 10 million copies sold faster than any other game in the franchise.

Currently, Resident Evil Village is the sixth best-selling game in the series, according to data from Capcom's "Platinum List" as of March 31, 2024. It is surpassed in sales by:
- Resident Evil 5* — 14.6 million copies;
- Resident Evil 2 Remake — 13.9 million copies;
- Resident Evil 7 Biohazard — 13.3 million copies;
- Resident Evil 4* — 13.2 million copies;
- Resident Evil 6* — 13.1 million copies.
Total sales of the Resident Evil series now exceed 157 million copies.
*We have combined the sales of the original games and their re-releases. In the case of Resident Evil 4, we did not include sales from the remake, which account for an additional 7 million copies.
