The year 2025 was quite mixed for Remedy Entertainment. In a recent report, the Finnish company revealed that while it managed to increase its revenue, its losses also grew.

Control Resonant

  • In total, Remedy earned €59.5 million for the entire year 2025, which is 17.5% more compared to 2024.
  • Game sales accounted for 44.6% of the revenue, yielding €26.56 million. This amount grew significantly throughout the year—by 5.2 times. According to Remedy, this rapid growth was driven by strong sales of Alan Wake 2 and payments from Sony and Microsoft for featuring FBC: Firebreak in subscriptions. The sales of Control also played a role, as they increased following the announcement of Control Resonant—Remedy estimates that over a million copies of the game were sold in 2025 alone.
  • The remaining 55.4% of revenue came from commissions for the development of Control Resonant and the remake of the Max Payne duology, amounting to €32.95 million — 28% less than the previous year.
  • Remedy's annual operational losses reached €14.86 million. In comparison, the Finnish company also operated at a loss in 2024, but the losses were significantly smaller at €4.28 million.
  • Remedy explained that the increase in losses was largely due to the unsuccessful release of the cooperative shooter FBC: Firebreak, which forced them to write off a large portion of the development and publishing costs. However, by the end of the year, the company's financial situation began to improve. Looking solely at the fourth quarter (October-December 2025), Remedy ended with a small profit of €726,000.
  • As of December 31, Remedy employed 387 people — a 5.4% increase from the previous year.

Shortly before releasing the annual report, Remedy also announced that it had found a new CEO. Starting March 1, Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who previously held executive positions at Electronic Arts and CCP Games, will lead the company. To recall, the previous head of Remedy, Tero Virtala, resigned in October 2025 after the failure of FBC: Firebreak.
