The developers of Alan Wake and Control reported their performance for the third quarter of 2025, which spanned from June 1 to September 30. The past three months turned out worse than Remedy Entertainment had anticipated.
FBC: Firebreak
- The company reported quarterly revenue of 12.15 million euros, which is 32% lower than the previous year.
- Almost half of the revenue — 6.04 million euros — was generated from sales of Remedy’s games. Compared to last year, this marks a 620% increase. As explained by Remedy, a significant portion of this income came from distributing FBC: Firebreak through subscription services, as well as sales from Control and Alan Wake 2.
- The remaining 6.11 million euros came from development fees for Control 2 and the remake of the Max Payne duology, with a 64% decline.
- Remedy closed the quarter with an operating loss of 16.42 million euros, a stark contrast to last year when the company reported a profit of 2.4 million euros.
- According to Remedy, the losses were due to the unsuccessful release of FBC: Firebreak. They reiterated their earlier decision to write off most of the capitalized development and publishing costs of the game — amounting to 14.9 million euros. Some of the freed resources will now be directed to other projects.
- In addition to Control 2 and the Max Payne duology remake, the company is working on an unannounced game currently in the concept approval stage, which Remedy plans to publish independently.
- As of September 30, Remedy employed 391 people — an increase of 7.7% over the previous year.
