Last night, the Raven Software studio successfully voted for the creation of the Game Workers Alliance trade union. 19 people were in favor of unification, and three were against it.
Activision Blizzard stated that “a decision that will affect the entire Raven Software studio, consisting of approximately 350 people, should not be made by 19 employees.” The company can challenge the results of the vote until May 31.
Recall that the conflict between Raven Software and Activision Blizzard testers broke out last December. Then the publisher fired a third of the team involved in testing Call of Duty: Warzone, although he had previously promised a salary increase. This led to strikes. In January, QA specialists announced plans to organize a trade union, but Activision Blizzard did not support them.
