Pet Panic — one of QDE Studio's games

MobileGamer drew attention to the closure of Queen Digital Entertainment (also known as QDE Studio). Although the studio did not officially announce its shutdown, its employees have been actively discussing it on LinkedIn in recent days.

The reasons behind QDE Studio's decision to close remain unknown. It is likely that, like many other teams recently, it was undermined by the challenging conditions in the video game market. MobileGamer reached out to the studio's leadership for comment but received no response.

It is worth noting that QDE Studio was led by experienced managers. The studio was founded in 2022 by two industry veterans—Sebastian Knutsson, a co-founder of mobile giant King, and Stephane Kurgan, a former COO of the same company.

In four years, QDE Studio did not fully release a single game. It is known that they worked on at least four mobile titles, but none advanced beyond soft launch. Despite this, QDE Studio managed to secure around $52 million in investment for game development during that time.
