According to analysts from the Polish bank mBank, the budget of the game could be 15-20 million zlotys, which is about 3.8-5 million dollars. The amount includes the costs of both the development and promotion of the title.

mBank believes that the game will pay off when its sales reach 250 thousand copies. This should happen before the end of 2024.

If The Thaumaturge fails, analysts say, it will not seriously affect the financial position of the publisher 11 bit studios. Now much more important projects for the company are the upcoming Frostpunk 2, The Alters and Project 8.

Analysts from Trigon DM added that The Thaumaturge started better than another recently released game from the publisher — The Invincible. Recall that in the debut week she earned 3.2 million zlotys (790 thousand dollars) with a possible budget of 17 million zlotys ($4.2 million). The Invincible paid off two months after its release.

The development of The Thaumaturge was handled by the studio Fool's Theory, founded by people from CD PROJEKT. Both critics and users have received the game well. Her average score on Metacritic was 75 out of 100, and her Steam rating reached 88% based on 175 reviews.
