According to the Polish portal Bankier, the sale occurred through bookbuilding—a special procedure during which potential investors indicate how many shares and at what price they are willing to buy. As a result, PlayWay earned approximately 853,000 PLN (243,000 USD).
Why PlayWay decided to divest its stake in Iron Wolf Studio is unknown. It is also unclear which companies bought the developer's shares from PlayWay.
Iron Wolf Studio was founded in 2017 and has since released the board game U-BOOT The Board Game and the destroyer simulator Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter. It is currently working on the tank strategy game Sherman Commander. Notably, PlayWay has collaborated with Iron Wolf Studio since the studio's inception.
PlayWay owns shares in quite a large number of game teams. As of the end of 2024, it controlled more than 60 different studios.
