In 2024, a group of former employees from Gearbox Publishing decided to establish their own publishing company — Cooldown Games. For nearly two years, it operated with indie status and has now become part of the Polish company People Can Fly.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

Cooldown Games has become an independent publishing division of People Can Fly. In this capacity, it will continue collaborating with developers with whom it already has contracts and will be able to sign new agreements.

In the announcement of the acquisition, People Can Fly mentioned that they had worked with the Cooldown Games team back when the specialists were still at Gearbox Publishing. They worked together on Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. It seems this collaboration perfectly suited People Can Fly, given that they have now decided to acquire the publisher.

People Can Fly considers the deal to be strategically important for the company's future. They noted that although they have recently focused mainly on developing games in partnership with other companies, they had not completely exited the publishing business. The acquisition of Cooldown Games will help the company strengthen its publishing direction. Moreover, People Can Fly will expand its revenue streams and increase profitability.

The cost of acquiring Cooldown Games has not been publicly disclosed.
