Another report on the gaming industry has been released. The Italian Association of Interactive Digital Entertainment (IIDEA) spoke about the situation in Italy.

According to the report:

In 2022, more than 2,4 thousand game dev specialists worked in Italy. There are 50% more of them than in 2021;

▪️69% of Italian companies surveyed by IIDEA are going to hire more employees or find new partners over the next two years;

Half of Italian developers are 30-35 years old. 32% of developers are 25-29 years old, 10% of developers are 36-40 years old, 7% of developers are over 40 years old;

▪️the majority of Italian studios make games for PC — 84%. Also, 54% work with mobile games, and 38% develop games for consoles (respondents could choose several answers);

In 2022, 52% of Italian companies earned less than €100 thousand. The revenue of 26% of companies amounted to €100-500 thousand, the revenue of another 22% of companies exceeded €500 thousand;

▪️30% of Italian gaming companies seek funding from publishers, 29% receive financial support from the authorities, 19% attract private investment, 13% use fundraising, 10% take loans from banks, 7% attract venture financing, and 5% receive financial support from platform holders (the respondents could choose several answers).
