In fiscal 2022, Nintendo actively hired employees. Even with the closure of two North American offices, the company’s staff grew by 143 people. At the same time, the average minimum annual salary decreased by $6.5 thousand at once.

The changes in Nintendo drew the attention of journalist Stephen Totilo from Axios, who studied the annual report of the Japanese publisher.

He pointed out that:

By March 31, 2022, the company employed 6,717 people, not 6,574 as a year earlier;

The average minimum wage fell from $88,276 to $81,705;

The annual bonus of Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa was $2.3 million, and game designer Shigeru Miyamoto was $1.8 million.;

▪️in the list of risks that the company may face, an item on “labor disputes, such as strikes” has appeared;

Nevertheless, the report says that the relationship between Nintendo management and employees is “good”.
