The release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard took place on the evening of October 31. Within a few hours, the game's peak online presence on the Steam platform reached 70,414 players.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
This is the best result among all the projects in BioWare's catalog. Second place goes to Mass Effect Legendary Edition (59.8k), and the top 5 also includes the original version of Dragon Age II (19.3k), Mass Effect 2 (13.3k), and the complete edition of Dragon Age: Origins (8.3k).
However, comparing The Veilguard with old BioWare games and previous Dragon Age titles is not quite accurate. Firstly, many of them were released when Steam was far less popular, and secondly, some titles appeared in Valve's store with a delay.
For example, Inquisition was released on the platform only in June 2020, and it reached its peak with nearly 5,000 simultaneous users just a few months ago, during a 90% discount.
Nevertheless, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is already among the top 10 Electronic Arts releases by peak online presence. When considering only single-player narrative projects, the game actually takes first place, surpassing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (67.8k).
