Now the Nintendo Switch is considered the fourth best-selling console in the history of the American market. Only PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii are ahead of it. This conclusion is shared by analysts from the NPD Group.
Switch also became the leader in the number of consoles sold in April. But in terms of revenue in dollars, the PlayStation 5 was the first.
In total, in April, American gamers spent $4.3 billion on video games, hardware and accessories. This is 8% less than last year. Gaming hardware is the only category whose monthly sales increased (by 16% to $343 million). Sales of both video games and accessories decreased by 10% to $3.8 billion and $151 million, respectively.
