The Japanese company announced that it will change its pricing policy in May 2026.

Nintendo explained that this innovation will apply to Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives published by the company itself. Essentially, their digital versions will now cost less than physical ones.

“This change simply reflects the difference in production and distribution costs for the various game versions,” noted Nintendo.

However, Nintendo added that retailers will still be able to deviate from its recommendations and set their own prices for games.

The first game to be subject to the new pricing policy will be Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. The company plans to sell its digital version for $60 and its physical version for $70. The game's release is scheduled for May 21.
