Analysts at Newzoo have revised their forecast for the global video game market for the year 2025, which is already approaching its end. The forecast had to be increased.

Now analysts believe that by the end of 2025, market revenue will reach $196.7 billion, which is 7.5% more than in 2024. Back in September, they projected that the amount would be $188.8 billion.
According to Newzoo, the mobile games segment is performing much better than initially expected. Analysts now estimate its annual revenue at $108 billion instead of $103 billion. Chinese companies like Tencent and Century Games, whose games are in high demand, significantly contributed to this growth.
Analysts have also raised the forecast for the PC game segment for 2025: from $39.9 billion to $43 billion. However, the forecast for the console games segment has been lowered—from $45.9 billion to $45 billion.
Newzoo noted that this year, indie games and AA-level projects on PC have performed particularly well. Additionally, PC gamers have been more open to new IPs, while console owners generally preferred games based on well-known franchises.
Whether the new Newzoo forecast will come true will likely become known in the spring of 2026, as analysts typically publish the final data around that time.
Separately, Newzoo named the highest-grossing games from January to November 2025. It considered game performance in six countries: the USA, the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
