The global video game market has started to grow again. The analytical company Newzoo predicts that in 2023 its revenue will increase by 2.6% and reach $187.7 billion.

Recall that in 2022, the revenue of the video game market fell for the first time in the 15-year history of Newzoo observations. It sank 5.1% to $182.9 billion.

The majority of the annual revenue of the video game market will come from mobile games — $92.6 billion (+0.8%). Sales of console games will bring another $56.1 billion (+7.4%), and sales of PC games – $37.1 billion (+1.6%). The only segment whose revenue will fall by the end of the year will be browser games. It will decrease by 16.9% to $1.9 billion.

The main geographical market will remain the Asia-Pacific region with gaming revenue of $85.8 billion (+1.2%). Moreover, of this amount, $44.3 billion will fall exclusively on China. The second place will go to North America, where game sales will amount to $51.6 billion (+3.8%).

By the end of the year, there will be 3.38 billion gamers in the world. This is 6.3% more than at the end of 2022.
