Newzoo tried to figure out if there is a difference in how gamers and non-gamers relate to brands. As it turned out, yes. According to analysts, gamers were much more likely to declare their sympathy than other respondents.
In total, 75 thousand people from 36 countries participated in the Newzoo survey. They were asked to evaluate 13 major brands.
▪️Gamers relate best to Adidas and Nike. 76% of gamers think well of them, and only 63% and 61% of those who do not play video games.
The biggest difference was observed with brands associated with sodas or energy drinks. For example, 52% of gamers favor Red Bull compared to 28% of non-gamers. And to Coca-Cola — 66% of gamers and 55% of non-gamers.
But in the case of Balenciaga (the only fashion brand in the Newzoo survey), respondents answered about the same way — 48% of gamers and 41% of non-gamers feel good about it.
