Paragon, a MOBA game, has an amazing fate. Prior to the launch of Fortnite, it was with her that Epic Games had high expectations. More than $12 million has been invested in its development. But something went wrong. The game did not arouse much interest among the audience. So, against the background of the success of Fortnite, it was decided to close the game. However, there were teams that continued to believe in the potential of the project.
The reason for this commitment is simple. In 2018, Epic Games opened free access for all developers to Paragon graphics assets (models, levels, animations, effects, in general, to all content). Unsurprisingly, teams immediately appeared who wanted to revive the game. They say that Epic Games failed to make a hit, we will succeed.
Only three teams were able to achieve any full-fledged results (the playable version of Paragon). One of them is Netmarble, known for mobile adaptations of such MMOs as Lineage 2 and Blade & Soul. Its difference from competitors is that it has received official permission from Epic Games for the brand, and with it a page in the Epic Games Store.
The game will be released in early access in November of this year.
