The transaction amount will be $82.7 billion.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The streaming company announced that it will pay part of the amount in cash and part with its shares. According to the deal terms, Netflix has committed to giving $27.75 for each Warner Bros. Discovery share, which is 13% above their current market value.
As a result, Netflix will acquire all Warner Bros. Discovery assets. This includes film studios, HBO and HBO Max services, and the gaming division.
Currently, Warner Bros. Discovery comprises several major game development studios, including:
- Rocksteady Studios—the creators of the Batman: Arkham series;
- NetherRealm Studios—the creators of the Mortal Kombat series;
- Avalanche Software—the creators of Hogwarts Legacy;
- TT Games—the creators of various LEGO-themed games.
Important: The sale of Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet been approved by antitrust regulators. It is expected that if successful, the deal will close within 12-18 months. However, if the companies are denied, Netflix will have to pay a penalty of $5.8 billion.
