The transaction amount will be $82.7 billion.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The streaming company announced that it will pay part of the amount in cash and part in its own shares. Under the terms of the deal, Netflix has agreed to pay $27.75 for each Warner Bros. Discovery share, which is 13% above their current market price.
As a result, Netflix will acquire all of Warner Bros. Discovery's assets, including film studios, HBO and HBO Max services, and its gaming division.
Currently, Warner Bros. Discovery comprises several major game development studios, including:
▫️Rocksteady Studios — creators of the Batman: Arkham series;
▫️NetherRealm Studios — creators of the Mortal Kombat series;
▫️Avalanche Software — creators of Hogwarts Legacy;
▫️TT Games — creators of numerous games under the LEGO brand.
Important: the sale of Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet been approved by antitrust regulators. It is expected that if successful, the deal will close within 12-18 months. However, if the companies are denied, Netflix will have to pay a penalty of $5.8 billion.
