Earlier this week, the media reported that NetEase decided to sue Blizzard Entertainment over the closure of games in China and filed a lawsuit for $43.5 million. Now it turned out that the author of the claim is not NetEase, but a disgruntled Chinese gamer.
This is reported by the WoWhead portal, the editorial board of which studied the court documents. According to them, a man named Yang Jun spoke out against Blizzard. Due to an error in the documents, the media mistook him for a representative of NetEase, but in reality Jun is not affiliated with the company. Moreover, he is suing not only Blizzard, but also NetEase’s subsidiary The9, and has previously sued NetEase itself more than once.
Note: On April 25, Blizzard stated that it had not received a lawsuit from NetEase, but it causes her “disappointment and bewilderment.” The company is confident that it has not violated any agreements with NetEase.
