Recall that in January 2023 it became known that the American company Motorsport Games had not paid salaries to three dozen Russian employees since October 2022. In response, part of the team threatened the company with court.
The inability to pay the management of Motorsport Games explained the actions of Russia on the territory of Ukraine. The company offered employees to move to Georgia at their own expense and renegotiate the contract for a lower salary (20% less).
According to Insider Gaming, which started tracking the situation from the very beginning, those who moved to Georgia also had some problems with payments. Although they received salaries in November and December.
One of the developers even threatened to merge the source code of the games developed by the studio if the debt was not repaid. However, it didn’t come to that. The employees decided to limit themselves to the court.
It is unknown exactly how many lawsuits were filed. Anyway, two of them were satisfied by the court (in the amount of $ 14.6 thousand and $ 10 thousand). Decisions on two more lawsuits will be made on September 12 and 21 (the first one is also filed from one person, but the last one is from eight persons at once).

Motorsport Games develops games under a NASCAR license. In 2021, it went public. Then she managed to raise $69 million while valuing the entire company at $500 million. That’s only the second quarter of 2023, the company ended in the red (it lost $ 8.2 million), and only $ 2 million remained on its account.
