Miniclip has made a new acquisition. The company has purchased a small German studio called Lessmore, which develops mobile games.

Miniclip acquired Lessmore

According to MobileGamer, the deal was formally completed at the end of 2024, but it was only officially announced recently. The cost of Miniclip’s acquisition of Lessmore has not been disclosed.

“We were incredibly impressed with the studio’s growth. It has shown outstanding results […]. We were amazed by its ability to quickly prototype innovative game concepts and release casual hits,” said Miniclip’s CEO Saad Choudri in a statement to MobileGamer.

Lessmore was founded in 2021 in Berlin and since then has released three games. Here’s how the AppMagic service evaluates their net IAP revenue and downloads:

  • Eatventure — $29.4 million and 69.3 million downloads since its release in February 2022;
  • We Are Warriors — $10.25 million and 36 million downloads since its release in September 2023;
  • Pocket Chess — $446.7 thousand and 3 million downloads since its release in March 2021.

Over the past year, Miniclip has become more active in terms of M&A. In April 2024, it acquired the studio FuturLab (creators of PowerWash Simulator) for an undisclosed amount, and seven months later, it agreed to purchase Easybrain (creators of Nonogram, Killer Sudoku, and many other mobile games) from Embracer Group for $1.2 billion. Miniclip itself is partially owned by the Chinese giant Tencent.
