Yesterday, Behaviour Interactive announced the cancellation of the cooperative PvE shooter Project T set in the Dead by Daylight universe. It has now been revealed that the studio working on the game, Midwinter Entertainment, has shut down.

Project T

This was written by former employees of Midwinter Entertainment on social media. They did not delve into details regarding the closure, and neither the studio nor its parent company has made any public statements on the matter.

According to the website of Midwinter Entertainment, there were 37 employees working at the studio before its closure.

Midwinter Entertainment was founded in 2016 by former members of 343 Industries. Initially, the studio operated independently, but in 2019 it became part of the company Improbable. Three years later, Improbable sold the developers to Behaviour Interactive for an undisclosed sum, as it decided to move away from gaming and focus on the metaverse.

Project T was supposed to be Midwinter Entertainment's second game. The first was the multiplayer shooter Scavengers, which never left early access and whose servers were shut down in December 2022 due to a low player count. According to the developers, Project T was canceled following an assessment of the project's commercial risks and a closed test, the results of which did not satisfy Behaviour Interactive.
