The company Meridian Play, founded by former MY.GAMES business development director in Asia, Ilya Gutov, announced the launch of a gaming accelerator for startups, focusing on the Asian market.

The accelerator participants will receive expert support to help them understand the intricacies of working in the gaming markets of China, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asian countries.

Specifically, Meridian Play promises to assist with:

  • finding a publisher;
  • attracting funding;
  • preparing or reviewing publishing/investment agreements;
  • developing a business strategy for market expansion.

Meridian Play reported that during the first round of the accelerator, it served as a consultant in three investment deals. With its support, Forklift Interactive, Top Joy Games, and an undisclosed mobile studio secured investments.

Meridian Play has not limited itself to just the accelerator. Besides it, the company has established a corporate consulting department, also focused on Asia. Its services include finding partners for publishing, localization, and marketing of games, consulting on interactions with regulatory authorities, providing business analytics, and much more.

As part of its latest initiative, Meridian Play became a strategic partner with WN Media Group for the game development event WN Connect in Busan. The company plans to announce other deals—both from the consulting department and the accelerator—in the coming months.
