Unity is reportedly considering shedding a portion of its business, several media outlets claim.

According to Bloomberg, Unity is currently exploring various options for the future of its Chinese subsidiary — Unity China. Among these options, the company has not ruled out selling the branch. Reportedly, Unity has already consulted advisors to assess market interest in a potential deal. Although expert conclusions are not yet known, Bloomberg sources suggest that Unity China could be valued at over a billion dollars.

The French portal Origami, citing its own sources, added that apart from this, Unity plans to close all offices in France. Currently, there are four offices, employing a total of 91 people.

The potential restructuring of Unity might be attributed to the company's challenging financial situation. In its 2025 report, Unity revealed it ended the period with a net loss of $401.5 million. Additionally, since the beginning of 2026, its stock price has decreased by 53% to $20.7 per share — a stark contrast to its peak in 2021, now trading 89% lower. Nevertheless, Unity sees significant potential in AI tools, a field it has been actively focusing on recently, and hopes this will help turn its fortunes around.

Unity has not commented on either Bloomberg's or Origami's reports.
