The Chinese news agency Caixin reported that the action RPG Black Myth: Wukong has sold over 4.5 million copies across all platforms. Of these, Steam users purchased 3 million copies.

According to the agency, Black Myth: Wukong generated 1.5 billion yuan ($210.3 million).
Given that over 2.22 million people played Black Myth: Wukong simultaneously at its peak on Steam alone, sales should be much higher. It is possible that Caixin's report refers to pre-orders or exclusively to sales in China, but this is not specified.
The studio Game Science, which developed the game, has not yet disclosed the project's figures.
Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20 on Steam, Epic Games Store, WeGame, and PlayStation 5. It will also be available on Xbox Series in the future.
