Russian game developers will soon be able to rely on support from a new fund, reports "Kommersant." According to the newspaper, the fund will be jointly launched by Hobby World and Indie GO.
As "Kommersant" noted in the Rusprofile database, on May 29, Hobby World's CEO Mikhail Akulov and Indie GO founder Vladimir Varenik established the legal entity LLC "UK Igf." Judging by the business classification codes, it will be engaged in financial services, as well as publishing and developing games. Varenik is appointed as the head of the organization.
If "Kommersant's" sources are to be believed, the fund will invest in AA and AAA level game developers for consoles and PCs.
The name LLC "UK Igf" suggests that the fund may be a branch of the Indie GO Fund similar to the previously launched Indie GO Start, but this cannot be stated with certainty. When its official opening will take place is unknown.
Varenik told "Kommersant" that he cannot discuss the initiative in detail yet, as it is still in development. Hobby World ignored the newspaper's request.
