Recently, the Internet Development Institute (IDI) announced the winners of the national content competition. Among them was "War of the Worlds: Siberia" by the studio "MGLA." The organization did not publicly disclose the amount granted to the developers, but an approximate figure was revealed by "Kommersant".

“War of the Worlds: Siberia”

According to "Kommersant" sources, the grant amount for "War of the Worlds: Siberia" was approximately 800 million to 1 billion rubles.

The newspaper notes, for comparison, that Cyberia Nova received 250 million rubles from IDI for the development of the project "Zemsky Sobor: Decisive Choice" in the same competition. However, while "War of the Worlds: Siberia" is a full-fledged game, "Zemsky Sobor: Decisive Choice" is likely an expansion for "Zemsky Sobor," a spin-off of "Smuta."

Previously, "MGLA" had already secured funding for the game. Earlier this year, media sources reported that "Yandex," through its production center "Plus Studio," became a co-investor of "War of the Worlds: Siberia." It was suggested that the developers requested 1-1.5 billion rubles from "Yandex" for the creation of new content and an additional 500 million rubles for marketing. The exact amount allocated remains unknown, but according to "Kommersant," it may be around 400-500 million rubles.

Representatives from IDI, "MGLA," and Cyberia Nova declined to comment on the sources' information to "Kommersant".

The release of "War of the Worlds: Siberia" is anticipated in 2027. Initially, the game is set to be released on PC, but over time "MGLA" plans to launch it on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well.
