It is reported that the developers plan to add two new locations to the mode — Nizhny Novgorod and Yaroslavl. Currently, players can only study the history of Moscow in this mode. The additions are expected to take about a year and a half to create.

In 2023, IID head Alexei Goreslavsky announced that the organization allocated two grants for the development of "Smut" itself, with a total amount of 490 million rubles. Official game sales are unknown, but the VK Play service told "Kommersant" that "Smut" is selling above expectations.
