The authorities feared that the Iranians could use the chat in Clash of Clans to organize protests. This is reported by The New Arab.
This is not the first time that Clash of Clans has been blocked in Iran. At the end of 2016, the hit Supercell was banned due to the fact that it allegedly promotes violence and causes addiction in teenagers.
