Antitrust proceedings in several countries and the subsequent changes in App Store rules have led to a decrease in Apple's revenue from store commissions. This is reported by the Financial Times, citing analysts' data.

According to Appfigures, since the beginning of 2026, Apple's revenue from commission in the U.S. App Store has dropped by 18%. Previously, the corporation, due to a court case with Epic Games, was forced to allow developers in the U.S. to bypass the store's payment system by directing app users to third-party platforms for purchases.
Moreover, if Appfigures' data is to be believed, a decline in Apple's commission revenue is also observed in Brazil and Japan. In these countries, as in the U.S., similar relaxations for developers were introduced.
In its latest financial report, Apple stated that its revenue from all services for April-June 2026 amounted to $30.7 billion. This is 12% more than the previous year. However, the Financial Times notes that analysts expected to see a figure of $31.4 billion. The report does not specify how much App Store alone contributed for the quarter.
Notably, last week Apple appealed to a U.S. court to reconsider the verdict in the case against Epic Games and allow it to charge commissions on purchases made outside the App Store. The corporation explained that this would enable it to at least partially recover the costs of providing services to developers.
