On Friday, January 27, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation held a meeting with representatives of the Russian gaming industry. According to Kommersant, during it, officials discussed the problems faced by developers due to sanctions. In particular, they touched on the topic of audiostocks.

According to the newspaper’s sources, the developers told the ministry that it has become more difficult for them to legally acquire licenses for music and sound effects for games. Currently, Russia does not have its own specialized services, and foreign sites have been restricting access for Russian teams since last year.

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation refused to comment to Kommersant on the information about the meeting.

According to one of the interlocutors of Kommersant, VK may launch its own audio channel in the future. Also, publishers who have a foreign legal entity are able to buy tracks abroad at the request of developers.
