By the end of 2024, esports courses may appear in Russian universities. This is reported by the Vedomosti newspaper with reference to the roadmap “New System-wide Software” (NOPO) approved on December 16.

According to the newspaper, esports classes are planned to be included in the programs of both technical and humanitarian specialties in a number of “interested” universities.

Three organizations are responsible for the implementation of the project: Rostelecom, SPbSUT and ANO Digital Economy. They should study the experience of foreign universities, form a working group of experts and representatives of the university community, and also choose the first educational programs in which esports courses will be introduced.
